Awards for Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students in the Irving K. Barber School of Arts & Sciences are eligible to apply for a wide range of faculty-specific, UBC-specific, and external awards.

Faculty-specific Awards

IKBSAS Undergraduate Research Awards
The Undergraduate Research Awards (URA) program is funded by the Irving K. Barber Endowment. The program encourages undergraduate students enrolled in the Irving K. Barber School of Arts & Sciences to pursue innovative and original research as part of their learning experience.


NSERC-USRA Undergraduate Research Awards
The Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA) program stimulates interest in research among undergraduates in the natural sciences and engineering, and encourages students to pursue graduate studies and research careers in these fields.


Undergraduate Student Travel Grant
Full-time undergraduate students can apply to receive up to $500 to support travel to conferences where they present results of research undertaken at UBC Okanagan.


Senate Awards

There are a variety of awards and prizes governed by UBC Okanagan’s Senate which are available to students of the Irving K. Barber School of Arts & Sciences.
